We tried a new piece of equipment in May called the " Ghost Box". The ghost box is a  AM/FM Memorex 2Extreme Radio with the mute wire cut. This allows the radio to scan thru the channels without stopping when the scan button is held for a few seconds. For us it was a good experiment to try but, isn't something that we would put a lot of faith into.

Ghost Box recordings from May 2010:

Tim asks, " What's your name "?
Bert asks, " what about Timmy "?
Ghost Box Answer # 1
We teamed up with Lynn and Roger from Cascade Paranormal Research along with Karen and Jim from Paranormal Underground on this investigation. We tried several different experiments during the investigation. The ghost box, Ouija board, and a pendulum that was suspended inside a sealed cylinder tube. The ghost box rattled off a couple of our names and when asked if they like us up here the response was, " yes ". The Ouija board didn't move for the first hour until Lynn and Karen started working with it. It spelled out   G * E * R * T , Karen asked, " Is your name Gertrude " ? The Planchette pointed to YES. We looked up all the names from Karen's book, Avalanche of Spirits and didn't find a Gertrude. It wasn't until later that week Karen ran across a talk show she did  with Jennifer Hicks  and the name Gertrude. For more on that story click on the link here .   The pendulum was setup on the outlook and only moved  slightly back and forth but, it never stopped moving. We did get one EVP that night.

On June 18th we met Paul from Ghost Seekers Realm. Paul captured a couple of good EVP's during the investigation but nothing was seen.

We started laser testing this weekend with a multi grid laser. I heard what seemed to be two men talking next to the bathrooms in the parking lot. It sounded like a argument or a debate and lasted for about 2 min. It caught my attention because of the different voice patterns during the conversation. The high and low pitch of a voice and the pauses in the speech patterns.
July 10 2010
We met up with Karen, Jim, Tanner, and Kevin from Underground paranormal in the parking lot. We also met Kelly and Casi from R.I.P. and OPPS. Karen witnessed a figure walking down the outlook walk way thinking it was one of us. All of us were in the parking lot at the time.

I arrived at Wellington alone around 11:00pm to test what happen when people ghost hunt alone. The thrill and caffeine was enough to make me pee my pants, no I didn’t pee my pants. I was going to run video but I couldn’t hold the camera, recorder and 3 flashlights all in my left hand. Instead I just ran audio and held on to 2 flashlights, keeping the right hand free for the .45. I started recording in the parking lot and within 10 min it sounded like something threw a rock hitting the wooden information board. That was enough to set the pace for the night. 30 min later I was inside the snow shed, talking to myself and the recorder all the way there. Running into a cougar or bear filled my every thought  as I tip toed thru the snow shed. What felt like hours, but in reality was 10 min,  I made it to the outlook. Feeling safe I set the recorder down on the bench and planed my next move. I remember thinking this isn’t so bad…..that’s when I heard what sounded like  a large branch snap in the woods below the outlook. I didn’t feel safe anymore. With all three flashlights on, I scanned the perimeter for incoming  invaders. I’m happy to say the enemy was nowhere to be found and the perimeter was clear. As soon as I finished freaking myself out I picked up the recorder and headed down to area 61. 30 yards from the outlook I heard a blood curdling scream coming from a mouse, or it could have been a bird chirping. As I flashed the light towards  area 61 I noticed something strange, something white seemed to be poking out of the snow shed wall. I stopped and thought about it for a minute. The flashlight was moving all around and my eyes could have misinterpreted the light for a object. I tried it again, but couldn’t re enact what I had seen. I moved forward, and then saw it again but this time it was moving from the pillars to the snow shed wall. It was something 5 feet tall that was dirty white in color. It didn’t have much of a form but it was tall and skinny. Once again I stopped to think about what I had seen. That’s when the flashlight started to dim. I turned on the 2nd flashlight and looked closer at where I had seen the  object. I was 75 yards away from area 61. I could feel my heart start to pound harder and breath shorten, all I could think about was, I’m not sure if this was such a great idea. By the time I got to area 61 I felt a lot better. I kept reminding myself that I had a loaded .45 and I need to stay calm at all times. Stay focused. Listen. SNAP! Another branch snapped in the woods. Squirrel ! I finished running audio and started heading back. The snapping branched turned into sounds of twigs after awhile. The excitement turned into long drawn out yawns as I slowly worked my way out of the snow shed. Before leaving I ran into a mouse that could care less if I was there or not. All it wanted was a small branch that was next to my right foot. As the mouse nibbled on the twig next to my foot, I wondered if that’s how the ghosts of Wellington see us. Running around in circles looking for a small twig, not caring what danger is in our way.

Would I encourage anyone to try the same thing as I did? No, what I did was just plain stupid. I could have got hurt, attacked by a , bear , cougar, mouse or had a heart attack. The cries for help would have gone unnoticed - unheard. Would I do it again? Hell yes! Sometimes adventures may not be the smartest thing, but out of stupidly comes education.
